Find Someone in Harris County Jail
The Harris County Sheriff’s Office provides a public inmate search that supports SPN, last name, first name and date-of-birth searches. An SPN is usually the strongest identifier when you already have one.

HCAD supports partial owner-name searches. Account-number searches should be entered without spaces or hyphens.

The County Clerk currently states that real-property images are available online from November 1, 1960. Newly recorded documents may take one to two business days after processing to appear in the search inquiry.
Certified copies are available online, but there is a seal issue
The Clerk’s portal allows users to purchase certified copies online. However, certified copies purchased online do not have a raised seal. If the receiving entity requires a raised seal, request that form of certified copy through the Clerk instead.

The Harris County Clerk maintains birth and death records for areas within its jurisdiction, but vital records are not ordinary public records. Access is restricted to qualifying immediate family members with valid identification.
